1. Daily exercise and good nutrition to maintain the energy necessary for the follow production goals.

2. Scheduling prospecting time and committing to at least connecting/talking with at least 20 potential candidates and 20 potential hiring managers daily if you are looking to be in the top 5% of your game, making upwards to a half million to on million dollars per year plus, depending on the level of salaries your candidates are making, and your fee/or what you feel your services are worth.

Excellent suggestions! I especially agree with number 1. All the folks in my company participate in Shaolin-Do Kung Fu and Tai Chi for both the exercise and the stress relief. Highly recommend all consider similiar programs.

Regular prospecting is so vital to building a book of business and reaching the top in your field. Have to say with it regards of what the economy is doing.

Thank you Robert for those suggestions

Successful recruiters have to be great communicators. They are constantly honing the tools of thier trade and become experts with using the phone and the internet, webinares, podcasts, blogging, email marketing, short listing, etc... The heart of recruiting is active communication which of course requires a passion for people.

Honesty is a big one, for me...You need to separate yourself from other recruiters...be honest, follow-up regularly with candidates...if you can't help them - do you know someone who can? I start my first conversation with a candidate and I let them know - what to expect from me, as their recruiter and what I expect from them, as my candidate.
