What sort of Blogs are acceptable on RecruiterTalk?

What sort of Blogs should RecruiterTalk promote?

I have gotten a lot of questions on this so I thought I'd write a blog about blog-writing and what I think we should and shouldn't accept for RecruiterTalk blogging.

So here's the skinny...

Blog Topics

Acceptable blogs for RecruiterTalk should be informative pieces that explore topics related to staffing, recruiting, HR, human capital, employment, retention, etc. Topics related to the broad spectrum of employment, staffing, and human resources are all welcome and acceptable topics on RecruiterTalk.

Can I pitch my service on RecruiterTalk?

YES! You can always pitch your service directly by writing a short piece in the "Forum" section. Feel free to pitch your service directly there. Blogs will be reserved for informative content. So, if you want to write an informative blog on a topic and then pitch your service at the end, that will be acceptable. As long as it's not a 4 paragraph direct pitch on your service offering :)
(Reserve direct pitches for the Forum please).

Example: You are a vendor to the staffing industry and your service is background checking. So, write an informative blog and cite some stats that would be valuable to RT members. How many staffing firms do background checks? What do most background checks cover? Examples of situations where background checks could have prevented a situation...etc, etc. Then you can plug your firm at the end and hyperlink to your site.

Will all informative Blogs be accepted?

Yes, for the most part. Let's try to keep them positive or at least not completely negative. Aren't you tired of hearing about the negative economy? I am! I think people want to hear about ways we can all get back to work and provide a very valuable service to clients. Let's share information that assists our fellow RT members to succeed in our collective endeavors.

We have an opportunity to not only share valuable information with each other but also to motivate each other so we may collectively take advantage of the little economic spark that we have seen in the last month or so. Let's all shake off the hits we took in 2009 and get ready for a fantastic 2010!!!

Please share your thoughts on this topic with us!

Thank you,

Perrin Peacock
